Just ask the seller to send you a mutual agreement to not go ahead with the deal and your off the hook. He will not be charged any listing or selling fees & that?s it. This way you?re opening a can of worms!!
The majority of sellers are cool so they?ll fill out the value of the purchaser at a much lesser amount and declare it as gift on the customs form. Now some sellers have either the brains of a dessert cactus or they simply fill out everything to a t and cause the recipient customs duties and surcharges! Then the recipient complains that he was not told of these new fees and a big argument is in the works! Yet another reason is that the seller has to fill out paperwork at the Post office & it can add-up. For some sellers it simply is not worth the hassle!! Alternatively in my experience if you contact the seller prior to the auction ending they are more inclined to be sympathetic to the cause!
