Why so dark colors on the "Silver" R1?

R1 Fanboy, Can you tell me if that is an original silver color on the 04 R1? Why is the tank so dark? I understand it is two-tone, but if you look on the Yamaha website, the tank and other things are light silver. I will attach one from the Yamaha website, thanks.

USA bikes are the lighter silver, the others got the dark grey.
