I just ordered a JT Pro-Series rear sprocket to replace my Vortex Aluminum sprocket that i installed last season because it was dead already!!! Does anyone know if the sprocket i ordered is a good quaility is made of C45 high carbon steel so hopefully it will last alot longer then my vortex. I dont do any type of racing or track days so i have no need for an aluminum race sprocket. Does anyone out there have the JT Pro-Series sprocket?

No experience with JT but the fact that it's steel tells me that it will last 10X as long as that Vortex.

Not all of them. My Vortex I had on my R6 lasted only 4k and that was stretched as long as I felt safe. I put a sprocket specialist Alumunum 520 on my r1 and it was on there for 13k with very little visable wear till I got rid of it.

well i guess their are diffrence in things..... i'm a welder/metal fab and i was just stating what i know...... but you know.... we can be wrong sometimes...... all thought through my studies and experience i find that steel is a stronger material.... although there is nothing wrong with a good peice of Aluminum..... i'd choose the Aluminum any day.... anything that saves weight is ok with me.... especialy unsprung weight
