Sprocket Question

Should I get a Aluminum or a steel rear sprocket?
I know the steel lasts longer, my question is more towards the advantages of a lighter aluminum rear. Is the lighter weight worth it? How big of a diff. are the two. I know rotating mass is a big deal but will I even notice?
I got 18,000 miles out of my stock set, them are steel right?

18000, yes that is steel.

Did you consider the SuperSprox Stealth rear sprocket? It has a hardened steel chain wheel affixed to an aluminum carrier, thus combining the advantages of hardened steel teeth, while saving weight elsewhere.
good Idea. Thanks again Eyespy.
I am going to buttonwillow on the 12, so I guess I am glad the chain and sprockets took a shit yesterday and not at the track.
If I am not mistaken you are local right? Let me know if you want to go that day. It is only $100 bucks. It would be cool to put in some laps with ya.
I just put the stealth on my bike. Its light and looks awesome as an added bonus.
Are you planning on going up by a couple of teeth on the rear sprocket ??

Get Afam sprockets and DID/RK gold finish chain...it looks awesome !
I wanted to go up 2 teeth in the rear but the dealership said I had to go aluminum if I wanted to go up 2 or more. I want the steel sprocket so they said they only go up to 44 teeth in steel. I got a 43 on there now.

Hey Woodman, you're welcome. Oh, thanks for the invite to BW. I won't be able to go, but I am going to be at SOW on 4-23, 5-25, 6-22, and at WSIR big track on 5-26 and 6-23. I agree, it would be great to do some laps with you.

The SOW dates above are 2-group sessions, drinks all day, lunck included, and a t-shirt. Tons of track time, $99. The WSIR dates are the same format, $110 ($90 if you do it back to back with SOW).

We have spots open. If you might be interested, just let me know. Have a great time at BW on the 12th, I wish I was able to attend.

B.S. I went up three in the rear and I have the Stealth sprocket and love it. It is definitely the best of both worlds and look real nice with the DID ERV2 gold link chain.

I said solid steel only comes in 44 teeth not the stealth
Thanks 4 the info eyespy I will try to make 1 of those dates for SOW I like that track better than WSR I tend to do better on the tighter tracks. Not that I don't like big high speed sweepers. I only have a stock rear shock and it preforms like shit in them 140 MPH turns.
