I dont know if im searching wrong or what but can one of you guys please send me how to do the test on both the stator and the regulator rectifier


My bike will run and start perfectly after i charge the bike but after about 2 hours it completely shuts off; first the lights; then the tach and speedo; and after that it just turns off

check the connectors on the r/r. what year r1?

same issue stator or regulator / rectifier?

i have a 2000 r1 that will not charge while running.
after running eventually it will not start without a charge.

the battery while at rest is 12.45volts while running 12.25v at 5K.
when i check the resistance of the leads out of the stator they where 0.4 ohms for both leads.

what else should i be checking to verify what parts to replace?

Where is the regulator rectifier are there any walk throughs for this?

it is right next to the upper rear shock mount and beneath the battery.

the regulator is connected to the plastic that holds the battery .its in front of the battery ,remove the tank and u'll see it.
there are 3 wires comming out of the stator , all 3 conneted to the regulator.
check resistance between all 3.
