whats up everyone was thinking of putting on steal braided brake lines on the r1. has anybody put them on? Did you notice a differance? are they worth it? Also can you recommend a good brand that fit well? I heard that goodrige is a respected brand.

Great move!

When I bought my R1 I immediately noticed that the brakes sucked some serious horse poo.
Switched to steel braided front brakes and it's a night and day difference.

Go for it mate!

Yo, where can I get steel brake lines. I have never had them before but I heard a lot about them. Not sure what brands are good, or if there are brands or what have you. I am clueless on the subject. Thanks. Joe :)

What about Galfer's braided lines. They have colored hoses, but I has anyone used them or heard of them? I found them for $97.50 for a complete set of fronts and a rear.

Any opinions on these? I found them at http://www.Kneedraggers.com

From Kneedraggers? Maybe I misunderstood him.

So you think that they compatible to the Goodridge?

I'm thinking about getting steel braided lines for my '98. I like the feel, but I'm a little worried that it may be easier to lock up the brakes with steel braided lines. Can anyone weigh in?

I bought the Galfer lines instead of the Goodridge lines. I had orginally ordered the Goodridges online and the parts manager actually called me up to ask me why. LOL. He said that he has had numerous problems with the Goodridges and that they have a smaller inner diameter. I can't confirm this either way but I have dealt with this guy on a few occassions and he is quite knowledgable.

I'm not trying to stirr up any bad blood here, just relaying my experiences. I like the look of the galfer lines, I got them with a blue transparent coating over the braids. Looks pretty cool. :thumbup
