They held up pretty good in a 70mph mishap I had a couple seasons back also.. This is not to say I could wear them after that but my hands were protected
Personally, I hate those gloves.

I have a pair, and it feels like there is a rock in the palm between you and the grips. Just my opinion tho.

I ride with a pair of fox terrafirmas, dirt bike gloves.:crash

wow.. I've had 3 pair of them now

I looked up those icon gloves and they look pretty nice. Ive never seen that model in the stores around here.

You're hands will need the same level of protection as they do any other time of year. I wouldn't be worrying about air flow or light weight.

I just put an order in for a pair of these Alpinestars SMX-5. It's got perforated leather throughout. I'll post a formal review once I get them. The weather's pushing 80's here with high humidity. This would be a perfect opportunity to put these babies to the test. Last summer, I had a full gauntlet glove and it was the worse part of my gear to put on when it was 100 degrees out.
