According to a diagram i have, the tps has three wires:
Blue
Yellow
Black/Blue

Could anyone tell me which of of these wires does what?

I guess one must be some form of switch live, one the signal wire etc.
?

it a simple potentiometer.
the resistance between blue and black blue should be 4-6kohm
the resistance between yellow and black/blue should change gradually when opening the throttle.
