Looks good with my Duke II
Hi to all as it is my first post in this forum. I just pick up a 2002 with 2000 miles late last night for a cool $6500. The bike seems perfect except for the front rotors which still show some signs of machining (the cross, 45 deg. pattern) on the outside outer edges (halfway) but radial grooves normal in inner edges. I had no time to tinker yet (or even look on the inside face of rotors), but it seems that the pads are not 100% parallel. This week-end I will change all fluids and filters (Oil, coolant, brake fluid) but I'm not sure if I should check the calipers piston since both disk look exactly the same. I know that the first owner was a rookie and lived on a small Island (Martha's Vineyard) the tires still had stubs on the sides (2inche!!) Could you still see the machining pattern if you baby the front brakes? Any comment or experience?
