It sounds like '04 R1's are now readily available off the showroom floor throughout the USA. Unfortunately they are another couple of months away here in New Zealand and will be about the cost of air freight ex-USA more expensive... and I prefer the USA colours (black not gold forks). Can anyone suggest genuine trustworty dealers who have '04's in the box at good prices (must be in the box/never opened as this ensures safe shipping and easier customs clearance). If the deal is right I could justify freighting one down... and if I do it I am sure there would be a few others down here intersted too!
If you can suggest contacts (or if you are a Yamaha dealer reading this) please send details.
The only other info I would need to clarify is model differences. The parts book will tell this to dealers. I believe differences are minimal (ECU, CAT???).
