in second gear, run it up to about 6 or 7 grand and dump the throttle- on deceleration, if you got substantial popping, you're lean.

If you're bike came out of the factory... IT IS LEAN

If the above + new slip-on or full system.. YOU ARE VERY VERY LEAN.

what year bike etc- what exhaust... what have you done to it, etc?

01- Jetkit + BMC airfilter + Mig slipon.

Tks...it's lean then. Not much, but i am installing my Flo commander that will take care of it.
I just wanted to know if i had to richen the mixture or not.

yep

most likey- back out the idle screws- just REMEMBER YOUR STARTING POINT.

Hoenstly, with the jet kit and just a slip on, you probably would be ok, but with the air filter getting more air in, most likely, you're running a bit lean. Remember, needles are repositionable with shims too- try a #4 on each one- start with 1 shim, not 2- with the jets, 2 shims could put you to the rich side

My Jet kit is properly tuned/dynoed with the air filter as of last season.
That's why i'm putting in the Flo Commander. A bit of easy fine tuning.
