He did what you are trying to do, except that he gassed it more.
Just practice dude. You dont have to go too fast. On the R1 go about 20-25 on second gear, then with 2 fingers feather the clutch until it barely disengages, gas and drop the clutch. Start with a little gassing, then add little by little until you are able to predict how much the bike will lift. Its just practice. Once you synchronize those movements it will be up.
