I'm changing my pipe out from an erion slip on high mount to a home made mcm mirage. I may not keep it but what do I have to do to my bike to make sure it runs ok? I bet it's going to backfire.. I wont know till I finish putting it together wed.

I was told I need to have it re-jetted. What is that and how much does that cost?

The MCM is just another "slipon"...it should be ok.

You can get a jetkit for it or simply shim the needles with some tiny washers (same as the ones already on top of the clips,but added underneath it) as well as opening the mixture screws between 3 and 3.5 turns out from LIGHTLY seated.

ok if the new exhaust I make causes my bike to backfire.. (not fully sure b/c I only had it turned on for 1 min and I DID just clean the carbs).. what's that mean? need to rejet?

You can start by adjusting the mixture screws one way or the other;

Lean or rich,it can make a bike pop.
