When I bought my 2000 it didn't come with a washer on the oil drain plug. I recently found out that they're supposed to have one. They're only $1.25 each but my local dealer had only one in stock. You'd think they would have a ton of those things if everybody used them. Do you guys replace the washer with a new one at every oil change or what?

I reuse the old one. If it starts to seep, I have a new one available. Haven't needed it yet, either on my 00 R1, or on my 87 FZR.

Ive easily done over 2000 oil changes in my life so far and have only changed the washer if the gorilla before me mushroomed the shiat out of it. 0 problems reuseing the crush washers, just torque them properly. I personally change the oil in my bike every 1500 miles so my washers get plenty of torque operations and they always look great.
New washers are nice but not required unless the existing one is damaged.
