Me!!! I’m in Japan indefinitely, so who knows when I’ll see her again 😭. Haven’t been on a bike in a year and a half now unfortunately... I was making $10/hr in America and paying $700/month in health insurance and I’m now making $36/hr here with national health insurance, so I want to go back home, but don’t see how it will be possible for a long time...

Here she is, sorry if I ruin this thread for everyone else by having the best one 😛.
Used to black, now it’s white but I can’t find many pictures of it white.
What kind of work you do in Japan?? Always thought pay was much lower in Japan or is that just China??
Middle school teacher. American pay sucks absolute asshole unless you’re some kind of specialist with connections and are blessed enough to live in the right area. I was so sick of everybody always treating me like a disposable machine, that’s why I left.

What do middle school teachers make in America? It’s around $10-12/hr right? $36hr here and it’s my first job in the public school system. I can only go up from here.

Japan pays well if you’re willing to learn Japanese and work hard. I studied Japanese a ton, and can read/write too, so I was able to get a job that was out of reach for most lazy foreigners here. I’m a white guy from Eastern Kentucky so I definitely didn’t have any kind of advantage to learning Japanese. I just grinded for years and years in my free time.

I will say this is an elite-level school. Like Ivy League for middle schools even though it’s technically public. I made a leap from another English teaching job in a private company. If you don’t speak Japanese you can teach some English classes in public schools but the pay will be less and the school will be like a normal public school.

Wow I’m in Ky too and my father was a English teacher, retired now but I do remember his pay being pretty good. He was a high school teacher. Not sure how much difference that would make. Im guessing the area has a lot to do with pay as well. But 10/12 bucks a hour?? Wow!!! It’s no wonder there are so many teachers out there that are just not at all up to the task. I remember my 2nd grade teacher to this day, she was an amazing teacher.

DONT LET YOUR WIVES OR GF'S SEE THE SECOND PICTURE, THERES A GOOD LOOKING GUY IN IT HAHAHA

On a serious note, I had traded off my 2010 R1, wasn't crazy about the Crossplane sound and feel and jumped all over this 2006 50th Anniversary

I love it, even over my 2002 and my 2010 and it feels like a different animal all together.

Hate to break it to you, but that's not a 50th Anniversary Edition. Those all came stock with Ohlins suspension front and rear, as well as golden Marchenisi wheels. Finally they had numbered plaques on them, indicating what number they were. There were only 500 that made it to the US. What you have is likely a bike that someone put LE reproduction fairings on.

Wow very nice score sir, ya gotta love that 50th color scheme. Very nice looking shape too. I so want a yellow 50th myself one day and have thought about doing my 04 up in the 50th scheme. How many miles on her??? I picked up my 04 2 summers ago absolutely mint 715 miles on it. I now have over 4,000 on her. Absolutely love my 04 and I had the 02 as well before my 04. I love the top end rush of the 04/06 so much. You can see pics of mine above. Get a bar harness your pretty brave strapping it up like that. A few post back you can see mine.

Hate to break it to you, it is. Do your homework.

Some have even said they only made 300 of these, which would make it more rare but doesnt have all the upgrades that a LE does.....this im not 100% sure of. What I am sure of is the Vin does decipher all of this

Always best to be sure of your facts, especially when you are talking to R1 owners on the R1 Forum.
That is indeed an Anniversary, what you are describing is the R1 LE, also released in 2006.

Yep sure is, and I believe this is the version you started with ain’t it?? Then took it beyond the LE status anyway. Been a while since I read the 50th thread so not positive.

Thanks Jake I def love it, I picked it up with 17k miles which is more then what I like but it seemed to be very well maintained and treated so I had no problem going with it. I know the engines are capable of way more miles if treated properly and maintained. Not even broken in yet depending on who you talk to. I will def check out the bar harness. Ive always strapped them at the lower fork clamp because it is free of wires and doesnt allow for any side to side movement But i use slip knots too so that helps. Very nice bike you have
