Anyone ever been to this competition? Would you go again?

I was thinking of getting tickets to this event, but if it's not worth my time and the money it will cost to come from Boston then forget it.

I am coming up from Lawton, OK. I am a member of OSBRO (Oklahoma Sport bike riders Organization). The competition is supposed to be great. All of us are going to be up there on Friday night to cruise around Tulsa, then go to dinner or something. THen saturday we'll ride out to the competition. Check out our website @ www.osbro.com

Stunters

I've seen Rothwell live 6 times or so, and talked to him at some lenght at the Formula USA round at PIR a couple years ago. GREAT guy Lot's of funny stories, and a very down to earth guy:yesnod
It's all where you are coming from. I admire and appreciate the skill and outright BALLS these guys have , but I'd prefer a good race any day
We should do a poll about this? It seems to me ( I could be wrong............ again ) that there are more guys interested in stunting here than tearing it up at the track or in the twisties, no?
I mean absolutely no disrespect to stunters I like wheelies too, but find they are slowing my progress to the next corner, therefore I'm usually attempting to keep the front planted to that end:yesnod I know it's a little off topic, but it DOES interest me to see what you guys think

I agree. I respect stunt riders, but a day at the track or hitting up the twisties is much more exciting for me. Its a challenge in itself. I'll ride a good wheelie, but thats about it.

I like it all...stunting, racing, cruising...it's ALL GOOD!!! It's all a part of my riding experience. Both racing & stunting require skill & kehonays.

I'm going to try to make to OK for the stunt show. On the way, I'm sure I'll hit a few good roads...:rock

Hey Jay, me and a buddy of mine are seriously considering attending. I think I would like to load the bikes up in his pick-up and drive to OK City that Friday night and get a motel. Then ride over the next day to the competition and come back to OK City that night, then head back to Dallas on Sunday.

It would be cool to hook up with you Friday night, maybe have a pint or two, then ride over with you on Saturday. What do you think?

I've got a ?...how do they do those low speed wheelies? And don't they tear the tail of their bikes up? I would love to be able to pull it up going 30 and never break 40mph....and just ride it out....but by the time I'm at the balance point...I'm doing 65 getting ready to shift....

Sounds great brother. What ever you want to do. I will have to scam a bike to ride to the show, as my R1 motor is still in a million pieces. Be awsome to see a few R1 Forum members in person. We need to get all the R1 Forum guys (and gals) together before or after the show just to hang out and BS for a bit.:thumbup

Rite now in my garage I have an 00 R1 (motorless SHAFT) , 02 F4I, 00 ZX12, 01 929, 99 R6, and a Yamaha V-Star. I will find something to ride....lol
