you should try some car accessorie stores, they usually have tons of aftermarket lights. some lights with bright white, to bluish tint, or even purple tint. as for xenon or high indesity discharge lights, there is no way you can get those kinds of lights that you see on most luxury cars for your bike. those kinds of lights arent just bulbs. say if you wanted to add those to ur car, if it didnt come with ur car, they cost around 2-3 grand to install.:) :) :)

Just realize one thing the colored lenses like the PIAA super plasma are darker then the stock lenses they look realy cool and light up some objects such as painted lines, but oftern it is harder to see with them. I got the Plasmas and wasnt very happy after the money spen I repaced them with the stock lenses and could see further.

From what I understand, you can't put true HID's in without a lot of mods. The XEON lights that cost about $40 for a pair at the auto parts store work really well. They are very bright and the light is white instead of yellow. I had quality problems with some. The filiment holder inside with the reflector on it kept breaking off. The bulb was full of pieces of metal. I'd put them in, turn them on and POP! It was probably just that lot becuase I finally got some that have lasted.

Try the XEON bulbs. You'll be impressed with them.

Xenon is the gas they put in the bulbs to get them that color. I have seen the PIAA's on my friends talon, i don't recomend them if you want a color of HID, they look pretty normal, and their 160 CDN bucks.. cheap ones are like Eurolite Xenon (quite blue) and good colors are called Crystal white i believe, something with crystal, their less yellow then normal lights, but not that blue color, and the cops won't stop you. (at least here)
As for wattage.. DON"T GO OVER THE WATTAGE OF YOUR STOCK BULBS!! I have done this in my car with normal lights that are 60-80, and put 80-100 watts, and it starts causing problems with electrical stuff, wires aren't made for that kinda of power, and switches go cause they aren't either.
Just thought i would dicuss some of the stuff i know, i am into the import scene so i know quite a bit. Hopefully be owning my friends R6 though =) ( i know its not a R1) Also you can get cheaper HID's, from places like APC, but haven't had experience with them yet!.

you pay for what you get .. so if the lights cost ya $19.99 vs $99.99 then there is your difference .. although $99 dollars is a lot just for bulbs .. the PIAA cost about $90 USD ... remember not to touch the bulbs w/ your hand ... they'll go POP after a few days ..

what you'll need for HID

here is a comparison

this is the photo they advertise with the bulbs i paid for. very acurate photo and if anything, i think they possibly have a little bit more of a blue tint than this. headlight design may cause this, or i'm just seeing things........
