BRAKES and BREAKS YOUR WALLET

Just a note to any of you that are intending to finance your Yamaha with Yamaha credit.

DON'T!!!

Almost any other credit source would be better!

Yamaha 3 year financing is not actually a loan. It is a revolving credit account with a promotional initial rate of 8% (only 4% if you have exceptional credit) that changes to prime plus 14% at the end of the 36 month promotional period. Furthermore, the required monthly payment will not pay off your initial balance by the end of the 3 years. So, if you don't make double payments, at the end of the 3 year promotional period, you will be paying 18% interest!

It always pays to read the fine print. And good on you for doing so. But the fact that finance companies want to screw you over as much as they possibly can is nothing new or that you have to get sucked in. Just use the low interest rate to your advantage - pay enough every month so at the end of 36 months you have cleared the debt. Simples.

Ive got a 3year, 4% with them, i pay 275 a month just to be safe and have had zero issues. But, I also traded in a 2011 CBR1000rr for the R1, came out pretty well really.
