Hey all. Just got back from riding my R1 and I've been having a ton of fun doing throttle wheelies! Just bring the bike up to about 4 grand in first let off and then punch it and up she comes! WOOHOO! On my GSX-R you could do the same thing but the power came on so much higher in the revs that the wheelie ended up being violent. The front would shoot straight up. The R1 feels so much better, at least to me! By the way it's only 31 degrees here now but I haven't been able to stay off my bike, f**k the cold. This is just way too much fun!

I'd say it's coming up at about 6 or 7. I'm not really nailing it though. The bike has about 1500 on it now, and it still feels like it is loosening up a lot. Man, I really, really, really like this bike. For me it's like a dream come true. I always thought it could be this good, but now I have it in my garage...

Those MO figures are pretty good too! 138.9 and 75.5!!! Damn! No need for me to make any more noise....

Ahhhh.....

It is fun to see how different perspectives we have about bikes.

Personally, I cursed my R1 for being way to easy to wheelie. Not even counting first gear (would wheelie there regardless of rpm), it had a tendency to lift the front everywhere, wether I wanted it or not. This made it difficult to ride fast on bumpy tracks.

The Gixxer is different. Easier to keep the front on the ground when trying to. However, it has a relatively short swingarm which makes it prone to wheelies over bumps even at speeds way above 200kph. That seldom was a problem with the R1, except for a couple of places at Nürburgring.

I don't know why I keep asking you about Nürburgring. I always end up being very envious!! ;) :thumbup ;) :thumbup

Will you see Bren? I hope we get to see pictures. :) Enjoy your trip! :thumbup :thumbup

You should ;) The place is simply fantastic. Never tried anything even remotely close to it.

I will stay at Brens place. Videocamera is integrated on the bike, but hope to get both pictures and video from trackside as well.
