What was your first street bike? Show a pic. Here is a pic of what I had, not my actual bike. It was a 1988 Kawa. Ninja 600. I bought it brand new for like $6,000.00 I think. I put a Dyno Jet Kit and a Vance & Hines 4 into 1 pipe on it. I thouht I was the shit at the time. I laid that bike down 3 times the first year I owned it (total newb). I learned a lot and lived. The difference between this and my 07 R1 are astronomical, but I still have alot of fond memories of my first.

my first bike was a 2001 gsx-r600. i paid $6,000 for the bike, it had 11,000mi, yosh slip on and custom blue paint with silver flames. i put it down on hwy 9 in saratoga, ca and messed up the paint within the first year.

That's either a '93, or it was purchased in Europe in '92... The '92's stateside were stil air/oil colled--only the '92 600 was watercooled at the time...

My first bike was a GPz550... Great bike, super-fast for a snot-nosed 14 year old... My next bike was even better (worse): a GPz750 turbo... Yup, way too much bike, but it sure taught me a lot about throttle control through the Malibu canyons...
