As soon as I get to my Dest. it goes straight to my back.(If allowed) [/B][/QUOTE]

I just gotta ask......why? where do you go that your life is in mortal danger? In such danger that it warrants the carrying of a firearm?

Seriously, I ask because I don't know. I live an area where skateboarding is the only crime (get that shit)....If we knew more about why you all cary weapons, we would surely understand.

I know some places are "bad areas" but can you choose to avoid them? If not, ok, when in Rome........

I guess living my whole life having never ever needed a gun it's just a concept that is not easily understood.

Please, use them wisely.........

Oh my god this is the most hilarious thread i have ever seen on any site, period. You must really be a coward, and a skinny wuss to have to start packin heat in your R1 storage compartment.

SERIOUSLY, HOW FUNNY AND EMBARRASSING FOR THE STARTERS OF THIS THREAD. APE LIKE INTELLIGENCE! WAY TO GO GUYS, WAY TO GO!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I am embarrassed for americans and R1 Owners alike that morons like this exist in the world we live in. How safe do you feel knowing a jackass like this could be up the street from you!

DO YOU BRING YOUR AK-47 TO TRACK DAYS?

MAKE SURE YOU PUT EXTRA AMMO IN THERE TOO, I BET YOU HAVE TO SHOOT PEOPLE IN ORDER TO PASS THEM!

Isnt it enough adrenaline to ride a death machine to start with? Why put one in your trunk as well? Oh wait, you need protection, right? But from who? The guy on the other R1 is probably scared you have a gun in your trunk. Your scared of him. He's scared of you.

So lets all start packing gats around in case someone pulls some shit right?

AS FAR AS THIS QUOTE GOES:

"BETTER TO HAVE A GUN AND NOT NEED IT THAN NEED IT AND NOT HAVE IT"

Just so you know, a gun in your trunk wont do shit for you when i walk up to you at a red light, push you over so your bike pins you down. Kick you in the face until you are unconcious, steal your bike AND GUN, then sell your gun to a crackhead, who will get busted with YOUR gun, and wind up with your ass taking the heat for it when they trace it.

Oh yeah, i could also just ram you with my truck!

Or stab you with a knife?

STILL FEEL SAFE?

i mean come on man, if you are still so adamant about having a gun for protection at least put it in your jacket!!!

THEN YOU COULD AT LEAST USE IT IF SHIT GOES DOWN@!@!!@@!@!!@

HOW EMBARRASSING FOR YOU!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA
Dumbass-

September 3 of 2000 four of us were mowed down from behind by a felony suspended habitual offender in an uninsured and unregistered '83 Dodge Aries that did not belong to him. One rider was killed. Then he decided to run. I was injured and unable to chase them, so I grabbed my duty pistol (Glock 17) from the trunk of my Hayabusa, and held them at gunpoint until the first district officer showed up.

Have any of you tried to draw your gun with all this crap on in a moment of panic? It is damn near impossible. Then, if you actually are able to draw it before taken out try sticking your gloved finger inside the trigger guard.
Train, train, train. Your gloved fingers(most gloves) will easily fit inside of a modern semi trigger guard. I almost always use nomax or rapelling(thick leather) gloves. Weird at first but with pratice it is like second nature.

Gee I still cant comprehend how you guys can carry guns??? Like are you seriously prepare to kill someone over a moterbike or whatever??? scary shit, fair enough if they invade your home and threaten your family but while your just riding around????

I think most of you wouldnt have the guts to pull the trigger when it came to the crunch and would end up getting shot yourselves. And those of you who actually have the guts....well I feel very very sorry for you that you are so prepared to take another life:(

You americans and your gun mania!!! When will you understand that it brings you more problems than solutions.
The problem was already there and it will NEVER go away. It sucks that it has to be that way, but it does. If gun control laws got even more strict, that would only make the people who own guns illegally even more powerful. You can kind of compare it to countries owning Nuclear ballistic missiles. It wasn't a problem when they didn't exist, but now that they do, if your enemy has them, you better be damned sure you have some too. No matter how you look at it, a criminal is SOMEONE'S enemy. It's the criminals that we are all aimed at protecting ourselves from. It is unfortunate that with more weapons in households, there are more accidental shootings. It's not only the average Joe Schmoe either. I read in the news once that I cop got shot by his own kid, who was about 4 or 5 years old after the cop laid his gun belt on the ktichen table and turned his back for just a second to get something out of the fridge. Because of that, do you think cops shouldn't carry guns either? The world is getting worse like a snowball rolling down a hill, and there's no going back. It sucks that the only solution we "Americans" have is to do more to protect ourselves. I don't know the statistics on areas that allow concealed weapons licenses and the crime rates, but it makes sense to deter crime. If you were riding in an area you knew was notorious for speed traps, wouldn't you be less likely to be hauling ass than a country road that you've never seen a cop on? That's the same idea with crime. Would a person be more or less willing to commit crimes against another person in an area where people are allowed to carry concealed weapons?

Not that I agree, but its an intelligent observation.

Hmmm... my idea of guns is that they are for hunting or for professionals (police etc.). I was walking around in Harlem the other day and felt stared at - but carrying a gun to feel safe... no way.

A question: can you go drinking and still be packing or is alcohol and carrying a gun a no-no?

In TX, you can't carry in a place that makes more then 50% sales in alchohol if I remember correctly. Also, it's illegal to carry in any business that posts the correct signs.

You know what man I am so sorry to hear that shit happened to you guys, thats horrible and i apologize if i offended or struck a nerve, thats a horrible story, and an even more nightmarish reality.

Call me a dumbass, i dont care you got alot of anger to vent and i dont blame you.

I guess you have your own reasons for carrying a gun and i respect that, and arguable they are good ones.

But think about this:

That exact same accident could have had a far worse ending, believe it or not.

What if the trunk of your hayabusa had been smashed open in the crash, and your gun had spilled out onto the street right in front of the criminal? You could have both gone for the gun, but you being injured he beats you to it, and in a panic decides to shoot you, except he misses and hits a little kid standing on the street corner. Or maybe he doesnt miss and blows a hole clean through your head.

I think you did the right thing in your situation, but for the love of god, please reconsider what carrying a gun around ANYWHERE eventually leads to:

Someone around you is gonna get shot, and its only a matter of time.

To begin with I think this thread started off as more fun then serious..That’s just my 2 cents….BUT when you start calling it out as YOU americans WTF is that?? Why not you PEOPLE…That bullshit does not fly with me at all…

What’s up with the two Canadians talking the most ignorant crap here??. Why do you guys think you have it figured out?? FYI I live in a suburb of LA and I can leave my door unlocked and not worry…do I own a gun…..yea…..why? Because I believe they are fun to shoot.

.Simple as that…

So again STFU and don’t call it out as an American thing…that’s so far the most ignorant thinking thou this whole thread..That is just like saying Canadians are nothing but …”A” speaking, Hillbilly, hockey loving, missing teeth, French speaking homos, that never stood for anything in there lives..because there country is filled with pu**y’s…

Enough said……..

You're right! They'll just go ahead and shoot you in the back and then take your shit. Why risk warning you?

Plus, they now get the bonus of a several hundred dollar gun as booty. heh

Let's just all wear body armor and walk around with 2 sidearms, a good submachine gun and a few grenades while we're at it. Then we can just rename the country, the United States of Somalia.

I think we tried the "everyone have a gun" philosophy didn't we? mid to late 1800's... the west... that worked out good. Let's just reintroduce that concept into the high stress environment of modern times...

I'm not anti-gun ownership or anything... I'm just a cynic. :finger
Can't even buy body armor in cali anymore. :finger

Thanks Skanky, appreciate it.

Wow. That's probably one of the most well thought-out and concise written statements I've seen concerning this issue. The last statement is something I learned MANY years ago from my father ("never point a gun at something you don't intend to kill").

Obviously it all boils down to responsibility. Just because you CAN carry, doesn't necessarily mean you SHOULD carry.

One should also be aware of the ramifications of even posessing a handgun in public. How are you going to handle the situation if you get pulled over by the cops? Are you going to carry it concealed into a place of business that posts "no handguns allowed"? (this is illegal by the way, even if you have a CDW license). And, god forbid, if you ever do have to use it in a situation, are you ready for the consequences? Yes it can save your life, but more than likely it's going to simply bring you a lot of legal hassles. Packing heat is not to be taken lightly in any regards.

Again, excellent post there Mammalian.
