ive put my money down on the new one almost 2 months ago,
been waiting waiting waiting, hoping it'll get here asap, i needed it this week cuz im signed up to go into a import show this sat.
so i get a call taht its in, so i get all my insurnace work done, go to the dealer, they tell me somethins wrong with the engine, they are guessing spark plugs or maybe some wiring...
the engine starts with a lil efffort, than if u rev it for a while and play with it, it'll stay on idling for about 10 20 seconds than it will die...im hoping this isnt something major:no
but still... i need this bike so i can put some mods on it get some paint work done and be ready for the show on sat...
wat a piss off...
is it common for new bikes to have problems like this????....
im also kinda worried cuz i payed them already and that this bike might have some future problems???? wat are u guys thinking???

on a sidenote, the engine sounds DEADlY(exaust engine) so much louder than the new R6s... also tehre was a silver 1000rr right beside it, but being side by side by my red one, it wasnt even close at the looks department, although it didnt sound too bad...

I would reply but I simply don't understand your writing!

Hopefully its just something little. I've got a couple VERY minor complaints... but I chalk it up to being a first model year.

My clutch doesn't disengage right away... its like a split second after I pull it in. Kinda annoying. Its not every time, but fairly often. Makes it more difficult to down shift quickly. I've only got 200 mi on it so far, so maybe it'll go away. Other than that, this is by far the best shifting Yamaha I've ever ridden.

The bike is pretty feakin' hot. Its not unbearable, and I expected it anyhow so no big deal. My knees/thighs get hot from the frame up front and when idling in traffic the waft from behind the legs is pretty steamy too. Ah, the price I pay to have the fastest, sexiest bike in town. :)

This sucka handles as smooth as :epimp

I don't know what people where complaining about re: the lack of low end power and clutch problems starting from standstill. That all seems perfect to me. Mine pulls up effortlessly in first and second so far.

:riding

wtf man. why cant you people just give an answer or something close rather than bash his typing skills. this aint ****ing grammar and english class.

was it idling rough when it was idling for those 10-20 seconds? number of things could be wrong

ITs funny that you had to have it so you could go to the show..... are you from Vancouver???

Anyways I'd take it back cuz thats not something thats "common" on new bikes. If the bike can't idle something has to be ****ed up.

:no This is not nice, What your doing here. :no

Well, I wouldn't touch this bike and tell my dealer to bring another one for me, even though it'll take some time. You are going to ride this bike for a long time and not just going to shows and stuff like this.

Dealer should give you a perfect running Bike.

Say thanks thay they noticed the problem befor you took the bike out. Otherwise they could say that you f***d it up.

Keep us posted.

Good luck in the show.

Im not sure why this poor guy is copping som much of a hard time. I mean he's just forked out $10g u.s for his bike, there seems to be something wrong/not running properly,he's obviously upset and a tad confused as to what to do-and the majority of the replys have been smart a$$ useless posts on his spelling mistakes..WTF:confused:

Dont "ring" the dealer where you got it from asking for advise and what to do-tae the damn thing back and insist that they fix it. Youve payed for a brand new, smooth running 04 R1-not one that seems tpo have a problem and doesnt sound right:thumbup

If you cant offer any help to this guy, dont reply:no

LOL...
im not in van, i live in the canadian rockies somewhere, near calgary(GO FLAMES GO!!!)

no i didnt get this bike to go into show, but i signed up anyways hoping i'll get some work done before i go into the show...

i got a call today saying it may be the exup valve????

If the bike isn't running perfect to your liking.......tell them you'll wait till the next shipment comes in.

Completely ASSANINE for them to call ya, tell you your bike is in, then say "Somethings wrong with the engine."

I'd say, "Somethings wrong if u think this is my bike, get me another one, NOW."

Tarl

i second that, you may miss your show but you will have the peace of mind after words that your bike is in good shape..

wait till the next shipment!
