Even though I don’t think I hit the road very hard it was hard enough to put a small crack in the back side of my almost new ARAI helmet. I have read posts about if you simply drop your lid to the ground it’s no good. What are your opinions on if I should buy a new lid or not? I just dropped a load on my credit card from piecing back together the front of my bike and now I am faced with having to buy a new helmet. If the opinion is to buy a new lid where is a good place to pick up a new Arai? Thanks guys for the info on where to buy the parts I looked up mrcycles.com and they got me set up. Great guys to work with. Hopefully my parts will be here this week and I can get her back togeather.

send to arai for inspection, they will do this for free. contrary to po belief, dropping a helmet wont ruin it...it can, but highly unlikely. If you have a crack in it, def get it checked out...most likely replaced.

Arai will inspect the helmet for you and let you know if you can keep using it or they will recommend that you replace it.

As a person who is superstitous, every new helmet I get must be dropped before I ride with it...Many top riders also do this, the theory is, better have the helmet hit the ground first before your head is in it.

What does that mean?

I'd agree... If it is cracked, then the integrity of it has likely been comprimised... As mentioned, you can always have arai inspect it for you...
