Just curious if anyone as powder coated their exhaust pipes. If so, was there an impact to the pipes. Did it help or hurt with heat from the exhaust?
Thanks...babyherc said:i ceramic coated the pipes and it reduced the heat significantly.

Some pics would be nice.

Powdercoating is not an issue, once cured the powder can withstand exhaust canister heat without issues, besides your canister will never reach temps in excess of 450F, for extended duration :thumbup

What color is that?
Is that anodized or powdercoat ?
I never thought of that. I suppose that would actually work better than powdercoating. Will have to check and compare the costs associated btwn the two.babyherc said:it is ceramic coated chrome color.
Oh, I would loove to see the before and after pics.dezr1 said:hmmm i am about to do this mod myself... going to coat the cans, mid pipe and y pipe plus shave the exhaust shield brackets off
dude take it apart yourself and get it powdercoated at the local, it will probably cost the same amount as all the shit you're gonna buy plus it will look a whole lot better... trust me, its something you want to do properly...K_FleXXX said:Oh, I would loove to see the before and after pics.
I thought about doing mine myself as SEARS has a powdercoating tool for about $130 I think. Will also need a toaster oven that he heat up to the correct temps and I'm sure a few other items, but not sure what at this time.
Yeah I found a local shop that does bike pipes and can powdercoat them with a high temp silicon powder (satin black) or ceramic coat them with satin black ceramic or standard Polished ceramic finish.dezr1 said:dude take it apart yourself and get it powdercoated at the local, it will probably cost the same amount as all the shit you're gonna buy plus it will look a whole lot better... trust me, its something you want to do properly...

I think the black finish will look hot with the carbon cans....:thumbup
Still trying to decide wether to go with the polished or the satin black. :dunnodezr1 said:yep sure will look good... now go do it and post some pics :thumbup
