I keep a couple coats of premium wax on mine, Mequires or Mothers caranuba, between waxings & use Mothers or Mequires detail spray :thumbup

helps keep the bug guts from sticking :yesnod

when you lube your hinge points be careful with the silicone, it can attack mirror & iridium finishes, and they will come off :yesnod
 
I use mild dish soap and water with a sponge to get all the bugs and crap off. Dry it with a 100% coton cloth then spray on some Plexus and buff it off with the cloth. I do the entire helmet this way.

I use the Mothers carnauba wax for my helmet and my bike! Great stuff! :fact
 
I use Zymol wax, applied in the shade with a new soft chamois...

Pfft...

I grab the windshield washy thingie at the gas station, and scrub the dead bugs off of before using the squeegee side to wipe it dry- dude, it's a piece of plastic, not the Mona Lisa.

and plastic scratches, hence his question:fact and irridium is a metal not plastic.:corn
