Le R1 a besoin de plus de couple a bas régime, beaucoup plus.
Le manque de couple du R1 m'a fait acheter un Suzuki.

More low end torque.

It has all been said, but:

Like:
back-light color of guages
seat comfort
width of tank
love the headlights
quick turn screws

Please change:
make back seat more passenger friendly (put a bump in the front or something)
turn down the heat!
lose the dunlops
no clearcoated graphics
less gold anodization, please!

1. Lose the Dunlops for Powers

2. Shift indicator

3. DONT MAKE THE COCKPIT SMALLER!
( I'm a convert from the Gixxer due to the size. Now I never look back to the gixxer. The 1 is much better)

4. Lose some of the heat. Thats a big killer in the desert.

Say it over and over again. The more people that ask for the same time the higher the chance Yamaha will listen.

Every single member should be posting something on this thread, even if this thread is fake I am pretty sure Yamaha checks around the community for input and if they don't , they need to.

Yamaha doesn't pay web surfer !!
This year I am invited to a meeting of work about the R1. (not a fake)
Sure it is probably marketing but like NeoGioZ wrote, more we'll report feedback, more yamaha will works on those directions.
I won't speak about expensive add-on like parts on R1 LE, but I keep in mind all little progress that they can easely done.
I'll post the result at the end of the week, if possible translate in english.
Most of our wishes aren't more expensive than actual solutions.

I like the seating position and styling as it is, Maybe work with the suspension a little. Definately needs more power to even be competetitive anymore, hondas are producing more power for goodness sake. Dont focus on high revs, focus on the all around power, and make it smooth, not pitchy. Fix the tick! Lets see, less heat, Dont really need a slipper in my opinion. Gear indicator would be nice. Keep the thin tank and seat. more power, Keep the same general ergonomics. Make the brake pads stop rattling. I hate the width of the others. Keep the lights. more power, Better fuel mapping stock. more TORQUE. What good is horsepower without torque? I think of more later

The '98 R1 turned the sportsbike world on its head and made all the others best offerings appear dated and slow in comparison.

Its time Yamaha produced an R1 which will do that all over again.

But then again they should have done that in 2004.

Please tell them that from me. :hellobye

Slipper clutch , adjustable rearsets with GP shifting option, less heat, laptimer, SS brake lines, wave rotors, better suspension, less weight, keep the dual low and high beams, sliders(optional), adjustable steering damper, more midrange power but improving the awesome top end, included rear seat cowl...

I hope Yamaha is reading this topic :riding :fork :thumbup :)

+1 and Welcome!!!

-keep the headlights
-merge R1 and M1 styling, better yet take M1 styling and add street legal requirements.
-adjustable rearsets-like suzuki
-include seat cowl-like suzuki
-gear indicator-like suzuki
-better passenger seat thincker padding with hump at the front to prevent rider from sliding forward so much.
-better power curve-like suzuki or kawasaki
-keep as many bolts and push pins all the same size.
-area for sliders free from plastic, so you dont have to cut plastic. and keep the area for clutch and brake sliders.
braided brake lines

Does anyone else care to have a hazard light option? I'm sure that could easily be done.

Keep the cheap plastics too! A whole set is probably less than $1000 from some of the vendors on here, when on any other bike, you can pay that much for three pieces.

- More midrange power
- R6 style suspension and chassis
- keep the undertail exhaust, add heat shielding
- M1 styling
- symmetrical lights (as on the current R1)
- improve the wiring harness in the nose
- R6 electronic throttle
- slipper clutch
- lower price :)

gear indicator...
adjustable rear sets
do something to fix the pass. seat like other said
don't change the undertail exhaust
and a brake pad rattle fix

p.s. if this thread is anything close to being true this pretty much guarantees that not much is changing for '07 and we will be seeing a new bike for '08

1) Resolve the HEAT issue
2) Slipper Clutch
3) Gear Indicator
4) More low and mid torque

I like the idea of making one push pin fastener size...it would be great if it were easier to get it in and out of race plastics. Adjustable rearsets stock would be great, esp. if you could put a pin or bolt in that would make them non-folding. The styling of the 04 + R1 is about perfect, make sure u don't ruin it!
