I just emptied out the catalytic converter and put on a set of new d and d slip-ons and now the bike won't start, is this a sign that i need a power commander or is something else wrong? Bike is an 04 R1

You need to give us more info. But, as said above, a power commander won't magically make the bike start. Recheck your work.

:beer

you can take the y pipe off and start it so no has to be something else is it turning over or nothing at all

How about telling us what it does do...

1. Turn the key - does the dash sweep?
2. Hit starter button - does it try to turn over...or just nothing at all? Is the kill switch on?

Etc, etc.

It turns over fine but just won't fire up. It doesnt really make sense to me, but it ran right before i changed the pipes so i just assume it may be related to that
It's unrelated. Period.

Ok, got it fixed, it was a fuse that burnt out:banghead:, thanks for everyone's help and suggestions!
Glad to know it was simple...now you know why we kept saying...look elsewhere.

That's hilarious...when I did my Graves smog blocks I put the bike back together and hit the started...nothing. Turned out to be the kill switch. flipped the kill switch and hit the starter...still nothing. Turned out to be in gear while the stand was down. Troubleshooting sucks.:nopity: but it sure does pay off.:riding
