I run about one track day a month and 400 street miles between track days. On the track, I believe I can tell when it's time for a new rear tire..... I only wait for a few unexpected slides, then assume it's time to change.
What about the front, though? I'm always changing the front when I change the rear - wonder how much $$$ I'm wasting. I'm sure as hell not going to wait for several front-end slides to determine it's time for a new front bun.
FWIW, currently running Power Race, med soft both front and rear. Coldest they've seen is 55F on the street - actually warm up quite quickly, especially for a Michelin . So far, highly recommend them for dual purpose street/track, if your street miles are not excessive (but haven't put on 'excessive' street miles between tire changes, to see how long the rear holds up).
thanks,
Mark
