hello!
in france, speedometers are tied down hushed up 299 km / h, know you how cross recall of 300km / h over? (G-pack nikko does not work) in USA, are your speedometers also tied down in 185miles/h ??? thanks

it doesnt matter . your bike wont go past that speed anyways .
if u really wanna know how fast u r going get a gps unit.

GPS...I'm a believer...i'm also a surveyor...nothing's more accurate @ speed...and the faster you are going, the more accurate the number believe it or not...

Already posted a thread on speed....but check my Avitar, taken from a Garmin 60CSX, did that last weekend.

My bike is not stock and is not running stock gearing. Stock the R1 is geared for 294km/h true, mine now 308km/h at +-12700rpm (peak power),319km/h at limiter.

No stock R1 will run this speed, you be lucky to see 280km/h true (299km/h on the clocks) and no R1 will run it's limiter unless you have a long STEEP down hill.

The clocks are to say the least, crap. Use a GPS, closest you'll get to true speeds.:sneaky

By the way, before anyone jumps on my head about how their baby out the box does 300km/h or hits limit....go fish...:butt...these are the same guys who get 180Hp from a pipe and filter...:flush:

Takes money to get there...:dollar...and balls...:crash

:rant:fork:rant

Well Said Scrat2004 well said.

My buddy has a 2004 ZX10R, he installed slip on exhaust (HINDLE) he may even be using stock filter, not sure.

But he is claiming that his bike on a DYNO was close to 170 RWHP !!!:banghead:

People like that I just want to slap across the face, or talk about their bike doing 200 Miles/h top speed.

My 2004 R1 stock DYNOed at 149 RWHP, and who knows how acurate that dyno was, I installed Graves Velocity Stacks and full Hindle exhaust, PC USBIII, and now it DYNOed at 156 RWHP, how the hell those guys get 170 with just slip ons ???

Or did they forget to install something on my R1 on the assembly line? LOL

I am sick of stupid talk, 200 m/h and 180 RWHP on stock bikes.

There is NO 1000 stock Superbike on the market that makes over a 170rwhp with a pipe and filter...:finger...but i BET someone here will say otherwise again.:nopity:

Problem is people take dyno readings as gospel.:butt

Pipe, filter and remap will get you around 20hp max, all depends on the bike and tuner and before anyone gets loopy, 180hp quoted by the Japs is CRANK Hp.:1pok:

hell, the new Busa makes just over 180rwhp and drags it ass to reach over 300km/h in stock form..ye ye, I know there is a limiter in 6th.....I saw a Busa hit 200mph/320km/h but with TRE, pipes, filter and PCIII from a GSXR K7...then it hits ALMOST 200rwhp...that is what, a 1340cc motor:scared...

Moral of the story is, do all you want, have fun and if you think you have "The Bike" then great...:vanish...

I Have An 06 Rk1, Akr-slip On, V-stacks, Pc3 Usb, Ign Module, K&n Air Filter, Dynojet Quickshifter,520 Conversion, -1 Front, +2 Rear, 6" Extensions, Crg Levers, Stainless Lines, Shinko, I Had Phillip At Raganets In Houma Louisiana Dyno It. First Pull Was Around 145, After Tuning I Hit 160.8, Im 220 Lbs Unsuited, I Run 9.90,9.91,9.92 Every Pass.60ft 1.7,1.8

:nforc: i agree with you about no stock bike will do 300km/h true speed..... BUT i must admit to clearify something.... there's no 04-06R1 that will hit the rev limiter in 6th gear BUT the 07/08 R1 hits the rev limiter in 6th gear,no problem.... don't believe me? hook up with me some day and i'll give you my bike to ride...... no probz. i'm currentlt using 17front and -1rear(44). i've hit the rev limiter in 6th as well with this gearing but not EVERY time... wind/weather plays a big role.... ALSO, we noticed that the 07/08 R1's rev limiter comes in a little earlier than the 04-06,that could explain it..... :)

My mate's 04R1,similar mods to you, has run 302KMH thus far on a Garmin GPS.....

BUT as you said.... money:dollar and BALLS!! :sneaky

Keep in mind the Genesis head has been replaced on your bike so that could be the reason. For engine safety Yamaha have dropped the limiter.

As for your mate, sure he hit 302, my run was stopped prematurely by inconsiderate motorists on the freeway..:hammer:...they just had to pass infront of me...:lhumper:...R1 has GREAT brakes:scared

I was listening to the motor and she was still climbing, another 1000-1500rpm to go and pulling strong, my guess is 305 true, rest is up to the conditions of the day.

Problem is, I don't like to hunt for that last km/h, like to hit it fast and quick, if you hang on you tendering for shit..:saw:.

I was hit, out of the blue, by a cross wind during the run and if I had not been racing the for 7years I am sure I would have seen my ass...having the bike blown from right lane to left did not phase me but it's a wake up call at these speeds.

Alot of guys here think hitting limit is 200mph/316km/h success...problem is, NO 1000cc Jap bike can do it...you know that it takes at LEAST 200rwhp to hit the 200 mark and then if you a fat .... you don't stand a chance...:hammer:

What makes this more interesting is that guys here talk about it as if it's easy, just a quick twist of the throttle....I wonder how many of them do a pre-check before they do these runs...in racing, our bikes are checked and certified safe before you can set foot on the track yet here, guys just get the itch and hammer it...:dundun:...ever seen what happens if a chain breaks....:no

But sure, still want to ride to CT, friend of mine is bringing her GSXR600 from CT to PE so I'll probally meet her and help her on the drive....then I'll give you a shout.:makeout

4 sure bru... any time.... i've ordered a speedo healer.... wonder what that will do for me in terms of top end? i contacted the SH guys and they say that if i'm hitting the rev limiter in 6th gear then they don't think the South African models have a speed limiter....?! over what distance do you do your top end runs?(curious)..... we test on a 1.8km stretch.... wide and clear road.... BUT back in KZN, CT's traffic is too busy 4 those speeds..... (safety 1st,calculated risks)

I don't measure distance, I just ride it..:boobies

Our bikes are NOT limited in anyway. Fact that you can run limiter proves that without a doubt. A bike that is limited you'll feel immediatly and if you not sure run a topend on a dyno, you'll see the power drop off. Normally they retard the ignition on topgear, easy. Mine, runs 299 then it's around 280 on the gps with the changed gearing and she pulled to 297 so no, no limiter.

Speedo healer well.... might as well use a GPS, more accurate and it can log alot more than your speedo can.

I actually like my speedohealer... I had my GPS blow off twice on the same roadtrip.... One time I was chasing down a squid on a ragged out 'busa on I75 in florida. We were doing about a buck fifty and it popped of my gas tank and smacked me in the face. Fortunately I had it safety srapped to the handlebars so i did not loose it. The second time I was only doing about 85 and I guess it just shook loose. Now I only strp it on for long trips... to much risk of it flailing around when i am carving corners.
