what up skeeter heard u were pretty familar with oil!!! im currently running rotella 5w-40 car oil for 17 bucks 3.78 quarts!! the oil is not energy conserving nor does it have sj in it!!! heard some people were using it in race bikes without any problems! im only doing this so that oil changes will be cheaper but more frequent!! so far i havent encounted any problems!!!Of the two you posted I would go with the amsoil 10w40. Just make sure the bottle does not say "Energy Conserving" anywhere. Those oils contain too much moly and could cause your clutch to slip. Are they car oils or bike brand oils?
:iamwithstdude... AMSOIL
i have it on my R1 and instantly i noticed a difference with the bike...it runs smoother and just feels faster! my gas mileage even went up..i went from 20-25 in the city to 25-30 in the city and 30-40 on the highway...
amsoil FTW!
Yeah, I've talked to a few people at the track using the same oil. As far as I know they are happy with it. Like you said, frequent is the key along with a new filter at each change. :thumbupwhat up skeeter heard u were pretty familar with oil!!! im currently running rotella 5w-40 car oil for 17 bucks 3.78 quarts!! the oil is not energy conserving nor does it have sj in it!!! heard some people were using it in race bikes without any problems! im only doing this so that oil changes will be cheaper but more frequent!! so far i havent encounted any problems!!!
AMSoil here as well, in everything. BTW, I have half a case sitting in my garage if you don't want to pay retail. PM me if you're interested.which oil should i use?

Amsoil cost TOO MUCH! Its just oil folks, not rocket science. Think about it, when is the last time you've heard of motor failure in a bike due to oil.
Change your oil regulary with any brand "motorcycle" oil and ride more worry less.:fork
