While I havent watched the AMA Barber races yet.. I'd pretty much bet my mortgage, 1st born kid, and my soul to the devil that either Matt Mladin or Ben Spies won the race. (p.s. unless they took each other out battling for 1st)

But check out this quote from Matt Mladin off Superbikeplanet.com

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2008/Apr/080419e.htm **IF YOU CLICK THE LINK FOR THE FULL INTERVIEW YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY KNOW THE RACE 1 RESULTS**

Q. Boring?

A. "Yeah, absolutely, 100%. These guys have to step it up.
Maybe the new rule changes will make it closer next
year, I don't know. These guys need to step it up and
make a race of it."

I mean it has to be pretty bad when even the racers themselves (and I'd guess the race winner) are bored with the racing.

Yep pretty much. Nothing compared to WSB valencia race 1 or Estoril MotoGP. AMA needs to change things around, as we've already seen evidence they are considering a drastic shake up. Even the AMA season review DVDs are unwatchable. I turned off 07 season review halfway through. They didn't even do a race by race, just here is a story or Ben and Matt:makeout with each other. Disgraceful. Maybe they should just scrap the whole series and bring more WSB races to the states. Or let them race on pocket bikes. I might watch that

Ben is competing in MotoGP this season for 2 races and doing some testing. He is shopping for a full time ride. Mladin has tried other series, but he is kind of a cocky aussie and preffers to be on top. Read what you want into that (cocky on top from down under lol). Either way I expect more from a Hayden brother. He should be mixing it up with those guys, no excuses.

It's the 600cc Supersport Class in AMA where all the exciting action is. Today's race was awesome.

No, you don't ever want to see anyone go down no matter what they ride...but anyway, I thought my color was off on my TV watching the to blue bikes ripping it up...

I'm sick of wtching the Yosh/Suzukis running away with these races. I don't think it's the bikes either. I think it's the talent. The R1s are basically the same bike as the WSB bikes now, they should be competing for wins. The talent in WSB is much deeper than AMA.
On another note Speed channel sucks! I watched 3 hours of commercials Sunday afternoon interrupted with some motorcycle racing. Bit Torrent from now on!

dont get me wrong. its true you never wanna see a rider go down but spies and maladin fly off that line and the rest of the race is spent on whos coming in 3rd and 4th. and as far as skill gos the moto gp guys would put a spanking on ama. buts thats just me

i wish they would do WSB instead of AMA at Road America :(

world super bike will be in the states this year. there gonna be state side for the first time in 3 years at miller motorsports park for the honda summit of speed. ama championships and world super bike june 29 threw may 1st

is there a reason ben and matt don't try to move up to a more competitive series like moto gp or something?
Ben definitely will.. I believe this is his last year in AMA..

As for Matt Mladin.. dont expect him to go anywhere.. he's been winning in the AMA for the past 8 years and has no plans to go anywhere else. Half me considers him a bytch. A little whining bytch who knows he cant win elsewhere. The other half understands his whole "if ain broke, dont fix it attitude". Mladin is living fat in the AMA.. why would he fukk that up and go somewhere else where he has to try even harder to win. Sure it sucks for us as the fans.. but its up to the AMA to make the races more exciting.

So I'll say the problem isnt him though.. its the AMA.. after all they organize the races and sell the tickets. They have the most to lose by having their 'premier' Superbike class be some of the most boring motorcycle I've personally ever witnessed. They should do something to make the competition more even, more exciting and more interesting. After all if they continue with the current pattern of boringness.. they will not only lose the fans.. they will lose the racers.

How would you feel knowing you are pretty much fighting for 3rd place every single race? Thats exactly how every AMA Superbike racer.. except Mladin and Spies feel.

As others have said.. the 600cc Supersport class is where its at. All the bikes are competitive and I was a little surprised to see Yamaha so dominant today. The new R6 is a beast. Just a year ago the Honda was the bike to beat.
