I'm going to buy a 57 tooth rear sprocket. Right now I got the stock chain on, but I plan on buying a new chain also. Can somebody recommend the number of chain links I will need to fit this sprocket? I'd rather have more links than not enough links. Thanks

hm, lets see here. Stock with 43 tooth sprocket is 114 so....

114 divided by 43 = 2.6511

X divided by 57 = 2.6511

x = 2.65 (57)

x= 151.116 links

Thats my guess in order to keep the same ratio :dunno

37 links for 14 teeth? I don't like your formula.... of course I don't have one of my own!!!:crash

isnt it like 1 link for every 3 teeth?

mechanical speeds achieved with a 57 tooth rear sprocket, everything else unchanged.

1st 61
2nd 82
3rd 101
4th 114
5th 127
6th 136
See, 136 is fast enough for anyone! I would hate to cruise the highway with that. You would be about a bazillion RPMs at cruise speed. But I guess you could almost power wheelie at any speed. :lol
