Probably at the crank and not the rear wheel.
:yesnod Typical Japanese HP rating... probably lose quite a bit due to the shaft drive like the old VMax. I'm sure someone will make a chain drive conversion... :nocont:

guys at my dealership said there won't be undertail exhausts anymore for the 09's. any truth in this?
Speculation at this point... unless the guys at your dealership know someone very high up at Yamaha. Undertail exhuast not likely due to current trend of even greater mass centralization.

What a friggin' disappointment. Why even include streebikes on there? All they show is the yzf-600r. Not even the VMAX. Just have it be ATVs and dirtbikes, and say the streetbike launch is in the fall.

The big international show this year will be Intermot in Cologne, Germany in October. Streetbike launch will most likely be there, unless they decide to announce in Paris a little earlier.

Yeah, I know every year not to expect too much, expect for the occassional juicy tidbit, like the VMAX info this year... but still, I always hope we'll learn something early.

Love my R1, don't plan on getting rid of it anytime in the foreseeable future, so my big hopes this year (as unrealistic as they may be) are for the MT-OS and a YZF-250 in the USA.

I thought Yamaha did away with the old YZF 600R when they brought out the R6S? The 600R was my first bike and I had a good time on it.

I didn't see the 600R in the new model lineup. I think he was referring to the '09 R6S.

I'm surprised that the VMax is so expensive. $18k? I'm hoping the prices on the 2010 models go down after everyone who feels they absolutely have to have one now buys one.
They won't, they will just build less if they don't have demand for the 2500 they build initially. It's a very good profit piece for the dealers!
