for thread starter....i apologize hijack ur thread.....just enjoy ur new 08 brutha....that heat and engine sound is normal on R1....try to live with it....

well if it is normal i will deal with the heat, full graves ti system will be on its way as soon as i get it out of the shop to take care of getting rid of the cat

Mechs say the noise is not normal, it is now really loud, as in can hear the tick in the showroom when they are running it in the back shop, so no fun on the 08 for now. They are swapping out the cam chain tentioner in the morning from another new r1, hopefully that takes care of it. This is just to go along with the rear cowl that is being warrentied because the paint is missing on the end, and the front cowl that is being warrentied because the tape that held foam in place in the crate ate into the paint, and left marks.
Im glad i still have the 06 1000rr so i still have a reliable bike to ride..... oops did i type that out loud?

anyway, just waiting to get it back, hopefully for a bike shootout in the area.

sorry to hear that ur engine noise is not normal....it sucks man....
im sure now u have more fun on ur cbr than ur new R1....
