I'm 6'3" and I am riding an 03. Yes, it's a little cramped, but I'm use to it since all pervious bikes I have had were pretty much the same ergos. Now when I sit on the newer models (04 & up), man it feels like sitting on a couch. Very comfortable. You won't have any issues. The first time I rode my buddies 07 it was even a little odd for me becuase of the room I had. I look forward to the day that I can upgrade to an 04 or newer.

damn u 17 im 18 and i dished out 11,600 for an 08 so anything is possible. but have u been riding before will the 1 be your first bike??
It will be my first bike, but I plan to take a very long motorcycle course local to me, which gives you your license in the end.

I've been riding sport quads for over 5 years now, and I would consider myself an advanced rider.

why did you buy a new one? well I guess if you have the money, go for it!

Hello, I am very greatly considering buying an r1. I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm thinking it will be an 05, but it will definitely be 05 or newer (because of the body style)

I am 6 foot 2 inches, with very long arms and legs. Will i be uncomfortable? Thanks for any input!

6 ft even 195lbs and it works great for me...

Thank you everyone for your input! Now I just need to find $5000+ laying around... at 17 years old :p

Calling around for a 2ed job now, haha

thanks again all!

Do you already have some $$$$? Cause you're not getting anything newer than an 05 that runs for 5k. You did say you wanted an 05 or newer right?

I am 6' and the bike is very comfortable to me. I let a good friend ride my R1 the other day and he is atleast 6'4". he looked very, very comfortable to me as he was riding off and complained somewhat that he rode a duc that was pencil thin that didn't suit him and was surprised at how wide the tank was on the R1 and it gave him proper gripping with his knees.

On my Buell S1W, the bike felt tiny but I think my weight and height are just about right for the "08" R1. mind you I am pretty close to 190.
