It sounds like you are taking things a bit personal now. What happened to objectivity? You cant make a statement like saying its the worst street/track bike and then claim that you are objective...
i think its the best looking bike hands down. but when i rode other liter bikes on the street i was shocked out how much more fun they were. i used the publications to back up another guys thread. i am getting attacked because people dont want to believe there bike is not the greatest performing bike. which fine. thats not why you bought so it shouldnt matter. its the best looking hands down!

The R1 is not "weakest in the midrange" it merely has a higher powerband, and I like it !

Why ?

1) It makes it more ridable in "normal" roads with traffic where you will not go 120 mp/h and redline every gear.

2) It makes it more ridable in the wet, as you don't have to concentrate so much when in the lower RPM's in normal street riding.

3) As soon as you hit the powerband, between 8 - 10 K - Up to your limiter you should know that no other bike has that power in that range except for the R1 (with stock gearing offcourse)

4) So if you have ever been on a track you will know which one matters. If you feel the bike lack "midrange" in general street riding, I would say rather take it to the track cause your looking for the wrong thing in the wrong place.

5) If the lack of low en torque is "so bad" the just change you gearing (sprockets) to what ever you want for whatever purpose.

:thumbup
thats great! i am sure many guys like the motor and many wont. But one thing i point out is the r1 stock vs other stock liter bike is always slower on a track. people says its the lack of power coming out of corners. i cant give my opinon on that because i dont ride tracks. so info there is coming from the many publications i have read about the r1

tell me where i am wrong please? its seems your in the dark on literbikes if you think the r1 is the best for the track or street. cbr 1000rr is the best liter bike by far. i sugest riding one!your r1 will feel like a heavy slow 600

guys on the gixxer forum are much more objective about bikes. I think this is one of the reason the gsxr is always near or at the top of the class. yamaha knows they have fan boys who are mental midgets thar cant accept the truth!
