Okay the new R1 isn't as pretty coming or going as my 2006 anniversary bike, but I still like it best of the 2009 crop of liter bikes (save for the too damn expensive 1098S).

Not real happy with any of the US color schemes either. They're too fragmented and goofy. Why not just paint the bike cherry red and make a guy happy? My favorite color is the black Canadian version. Raven with gold wheels and emblems.

Anybody ever try to buy a bike in Canada and import it into the US? I'm hoping that everying is Euro III spec now so emissions shouldn't be a problem.

hugh? you kiddin me?? you realize bikes are cheaper in US than Canada right?

why would you pay 2.5 to 6 Grand more just to have a diff colour scheme??

i'm sorry, i just dont geddit..

msrp CAD 15k {and they rarely budge on this.. 07 avail for about 12.5k}, msrp US 11.5k {07/08 can be had for 9k}

do the math mate, us Canucks are shopping south for a reason!!! i'm gettin my 08 Raven from US.. export/ import process is easy at least headed this way..

i bought a 2002 RSX Type S from Seattle a year ago, saved 8 THousand bucks! no kiddin'

good luck! hey while you're at it, pay me to get you an R1 from here and waste more money!! hahaha!!

One advantage of buy an Canadian R1 is that he'll get the immobilizer that the US bikes don't have, plus he'll have a scheme that nobody else will probably have. I have thought about trying to locate a 06 Euro Anniversary R1 as the scheme is totally :boobies

Canada got less than 20 Euro 2006 SP's. Many track only and crashed. There are probably between 10-14 left here. The MSRP was $26000 plus taxes, thats nearly $30,000 grand. I was about to import a US LE when I found a Canadian "Euro" SP for a screaming deal.

You can import a Canadian bike, but it'll cost 3-4 grand more than a US bike.

I would take a US LE for 13-14 grand before a Canadian 09 R1 for over 16 grand.

Yeah, I got it from Monette, they had two, the other one is here in Vancouver as well. I actually saw a third one here on the street. Bike is nice, most people don't even know what it is.

that's what i'm talking about. I would import that in a heart beat. Do you now how much the fairing kit goes for?

Don't even think about trying to import an 09 R1 from Canada to the US, it would be way too damn expensive. If you really like the colour scheme that much, you could order a set from a Canadian dealer if you just HAD to have that scheme. Sell your other set on the forum or ebay. Our 09 R1 bikes list at $15999 +13%tax(best price I bet you will find will be close to $14k +tax), then you will have extra you suck fees on top.

I was thinking about buying the 09 here instead of buying a US one. There is more to the Black bike here than just plastics so IMO would cost too much to change. It's the same situation really. I would pay more for the same thing.

I defiantly like the CAN version more than the US.

LOL in the 80's we used to always trade Americans for motocross plastics because you guys kept the yellow/black and we went to white/red. Funny what people will do to have something different.
