Worthless....... Put your bike on a dyno and find its RPM that produces the absolute max power... set your light there... each bike will be different... If you set it at say redline.. you may have been going up 2K in RPM and producing no extra power.... Lots of places will give you a dyno run pretty cheep... Then you know when you shift, its the absolute best point to shift for the max power of YOUR bike..........
 
coverd mine with tape. All it does is blind you at night and you can't see it during the day unless you are looking at it.

you must really ride the rpms for it to constantly blind you. you know we have 6 gears right?

i have mine set up at 12,500.
 
i used it a lot during the break in period so i wouldn't be running too hard. after break in i bumped it to 12,000. i like the idea of it, even if i don't often reach the light. i might bump it down to a more usable range though, and just to kind of train my ears to what the bike is doing at different rpm ranges without watching the tach so much.
 
ahh threads back from the dead, I've got mine at 11k rpm, only time I see it flashing is in 1st gear when Im fanging it.
 
Never seen this thread before, thanks for bringing it back :thumbup. My light is set to flash at 11.5k on my 08R1.

Just like me... now I've reached 1000km I'm setting to 10 grand... after 5000km I'm planning to bump it to 12~13k.
