So the battery is holding up! Check the connector harness to the main for abrassion, pinch or anything that doesnt look right. If nothing is found, I would assume the pump motor. I would try an alternate power source to the pump, before i would determine an ECU failure. I would try to run the pump for a few minutes in case there was something foreign between the windings and stator. Just a thought.............

checked and cleaned all connectors and run a jumper to pump bike started right up I let it run for several min., are you thinking ECU failure :(

Not just yet! I would pin it back to the ECU harness and check both wires from connector to ECU connector. Probably one of the wires has hi resistance. If they seem to be around the same, then I would consider the ECU.
 
starting problems with my 08 R1 I have 12 v at the fuel pump with key on but when I try to start it the voltage drop to about 6 v and the pump won't pump
does the pump failure be a reason to low idling?
