So I would like to go ride a track, however, from everything I am reading I am going to spend $160-200 every time. I race semi-pro motocross so I think I would be pretty decent at road racing. Is it THAT expensive to just ride the flippin track or are there cheaper ways to get out and have some fun at the tracks. I guess it's just alittle different from coming to the gate every weekend paying my $20 practice fee and riding all day.

Yup, that's about right; at least here in SoCal. I've heard it is cheaper in other places, though. It is a heck of a lot cheaper than a ticket! You'll spend a bit more on tires, too.

I would avoid texas motor speedway at all costs.. the track layout sucks on a motorcycle IMO... I rode there once, will never go back.

Ridesmart and Lonestar Trackdays (and I think theres another one started by an ex-ride smart employee too) have track days at MSR (motorsports ranch - cresson) and at TWS (texas world speedway - college station) Both tracks are a lot more fun than TMS.

Ride smart is around 100-140 per track day (depending on the track). They had pretty good instruction in their level 1 and 2 groups as well (when i went to their track days a couple years ago)

I just looked at the Ridesmart website.. and noticed I'm on their logo.. :rock

I paid 100.00 my first time at MSRH, I would do that one first! It has a few high speed bends as well as very technical sections. When you figure gas for the bike and the "hauler", tires, and all that, it adds up quick. As far as the entry fee, Best 100.00 ever spent.

I too come from a motocross background, respect the beast and ride within your limits, and have fun!

Have they put up an air net or something along the wall coming on to the straight at MSR-H?

I was there for the first motorcycle track day after it opened and that concrete wall worried the hell out of me for the newer riders
