Great news...but anyone else find this a bit suspicious? The odds of his old college buddy seeing it at an apt complex? Sounds like a prank almost for some reason.

Either way, glad the bike is back and safe. Love the dog pic. Lol
no prank, i like playing jokes on people, but thats a pretty f'ed up joke man.. worst i would do to prank someones bike is toilet paper the hell out of it, then saran wrap it!! I found it with my asian sixth sense!!! :crash

ok, seriously tho, my g/f lives in that apt complex and i just happened to go out the back entrance yesterday and when i was pulling out, i saw the bike sitting there. i only know of two other bikes in that neighborhood, mine (when i stay at her place) and some yellow/black honda at the front. i thought it was odd that some one would park a new 600rr towards the back, not in line of sight of any of the apt buildings, it was between the buildings with no direct line of sight. I mean, seriously, would one of you do that? So coincidentally, he posted on the local board, so i figured i'd throw him a line. And that's the one reason I dont like staying with her because of that. I live in a house with a garage. I'm just waiting for my alarm to go off one night and I'm out the door with my 1911 in hand! :nforc:

GoRide, glad you got her back with not even a scratch on it man. Too bad you didnt catch the ****ers and pay their dues for em.

I was over at the local Harley Davidson here in greenville the other day and they had a lojack display. The guy behind the counter actually talked me out of buying one becasue they say it can be hacked easily. He said thieves have some sort of "wand" that they pass over the reciever to disable it.
Can anyone verify this or have you heard of this?

Wow, then this definitely isn't a mean prank gone bad, but instead a fairy tale ending....well, if the thieves were caught, it would have been so much better. Congrats on the recovery!

Score...1 for us....but 5,000,000 or so for all those freakin thieves. :(

I say, if you get caught, cut off their hands like they do in the Middle East!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I support this 100% and always have because it WILL deter many ppl from theft.

congrats on recovery..:thumbupso do you know how many more miles they put on the 600rr for joy ride?..

Zero. The bike was absolutely untouched aside from being there. And ChanoR6 is the man! Forever thankful to you dude! :bow:thumbup

thats great!!:thumbup

Man, yesterday was a long fricken day! I posted a similar thread on our local forum, and a guy i went to college with sent me a PM yesterday. I wrote down the address, jumped on the truck with the dog, and guess what? There was the bike, untouched, no scratches, intact ignition, paperwork in the back seat, locked steering! It was just sitting on a parking spot at an apartment complex.

I blocked the bike with the truck, sat on it and called the police. 2 marked and 1 undercover cruisers came, fingerprinted, did all the paperwork, told me i did a good job and i rode the bike back home. HELL YEAH BABY! Stolen around 3-4am recovered by 12am same day.

Couldn't have done it without the forum and brothers that look up for each other.

When it was about to be released

That's friggin great news..........................Who was it that told you it my be in a parking lot cooling off:dunno. That had to be a great feeling. The fuggers that stole it don't live there but they live close enough to check on that bike. Looks like they "Shoeboxed" it and set it down to cool . BTW: I like that new Bud Light Lime:secret:

That was you Solidus! Next time i'm down in Orlando your Buds are on me!:beer:yesnod

I checked out Lojack when I was looking for an alarm for my R1.

It was like $400 so i called my insurance (Progressive) and they were only going to give me a $4 dollar a YEAR discount!.

Needless to say NO LOJACK! I got a Gorrilla with remote sensor, works great, stays in a locked garage, steering locked, and alarm armed, with a 9mm in the bedside table.
It was so sensetive that one night at 3 am Ialarm went off and I raced down to the Garage with the 9mm. Nothing there, doors still locked. that happened again for a few nights. I thought the alarm was being too sensitive BUT later the 4th day I found a baby copperhead roaming around the garage! Must have gotten in when I mowed the lawn.
Needless to say once I RIPed the snake - no more alarm trigger. I like that, an alarm that goes off when a BABY snake bumps up against it in the dark. I never park the bike out of sight when I'm out either.
