I actually feel sorry for the elderly lady. How bad must she feel knowing she killed a woman who was just starting her life? All of you are screaming for re-testing now but when you get up in age your going to be the same people who scream for more rights for the retired. What age do you suggest it become a mandatory re-test of skill? My grandfather is 75 and can drive just as well if not better than some dumbass 16 year old. Should we also raise the minimal age limit to 18? I dont know.. 18 y/o's are also very stupid maybe we should wait until your 25 and then at 55 you have to start taking yearly re-testing. Some poor guy has just lost his wife and everyone is focusing on the cause instead of the outcoming. I feel so bad for him and the guy who lost his foot I couldn't imagine having my wife with me and then a accident like this happens and kills her. I'd be devastated.

No disrespect but do you honestly think a 92 year old woman (in general) has the reflexes, coordination, and vision it takes to operate a vehicle safely and effectively?

get them tested every 6 months, if they fail then take it away. Over a certain age take the license away. 92 is just too old to be driving a car.

Didn't say that but I did cite a example of a elderly person who does. I have seen 80+ people on motorcycles and sky diving. Do you honestly think that at 16 someone has the mental fortitude and maturity to operate a vehicle safely and within the bounds of real world scenarios? I'm not saying the lady should continue to drive I agree that her license should be revoked after something like this happens. I do disagree with bashing on her for a accident that has destroyed multiple lives.

I was fined 8 bills from my double crossing....where the fvck is the justice.....and I simply went back in lane BEFORE the fam van so everyone was safe and happy:) The Chipper that scolded actually said he had a hard time chasing, but I had skills:sneaky.....note to ya'll....still not cool cuffed in the back of a popo car hoping the tow guy doesn't hurt the baby:fact

Give that old bag involuntary manslaughter! Shit like this is stupid and shows how retarded our laws are in America. Old people can't half see, probably can't hear shit either in most cases, are an extreme danger to the roads yet they're still allowed to drive without any type of annual test.

No shit i was cited that here in Toledo for going left of center to go around a broke down vehicle :fact..... Im agreeing with most comments on here, how is $20 bux justifiable for a persons life? or the other guy who is now crippled cause of that old bag

A 92-year-old woman whose car struck two motorcycles, killing a woman and seriously injuring two men in Benson County, has received a $20 citation for driving on the wrong side of the road and won?t face other charges, North Dakota Highway Patrol Capt. Kyle Ternes said Tuesday.

?That was the violation that was committed, and that was the fitting charge,? he said.

Ternes said the patrol?s investigation of the May 19 crash found with certainty that Faith Mitzel?s 2000 Oldsmobile crossed the centerline and hit the motorcycles. A news release from the patrol describes the crash as a ?sideswipe meeting.?

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., Mitzel was headed south on state Highway 57, two miles north of Fort Totten, N.D., and the motorcyclists were going north.

According to the patrol, the Oldsmobile struck a 1980 Harley-Davidson driven by Jason Hunter, 33, then continued south and hit a 2006 Harley-Davidson, carrying driver James Leidholt, 37, and his passenger, Sheri

Leidholt, 30. Hunter and the Leidholts, who were traveling together, are from Devils Lake.

All four people involved in the crash were transported to Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake after the crash, and some were later taken to other hospitals.

Sheri Leidholt was transferred to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. She was pronounced dead the morning of May 20.

Hunter was transferred to Trinity Hospital in Minot and later to St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. On Tuesday, a spokesman at St. Mary?s said Hunter was in fair condition.

In an entry Hunter made Sunday on his CaringBridge site, he said his foot had been amputated. He also wrote that James Leidholt had undergone physical therapy and was out of the hospital.

Tuesday, a nursing supervisor at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, where James Leidholt had been transferred, said he was discharged more than a week ago.

Authorities said Mitzel, of Oberon, N.D., had no apparent injuries but was taken to Mercy Hospital. She was wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed, according to the patrol.

Ternes said the patrol and the Benson County attorney?s office decided together to cite Mitzel. A message left Tuesday for County Attorney Jim Wang went unreturned.

Also cited was James Leidholt for not having a license to drive a motorcycle.
