I was convinced I wanted another set of the Pilot Power 2CT's, but... I went with something different.
Did a bit of a break-in run with the Michelin Power One and they are unbelievable, the combination of: - having new tires - the 190/55 rear - and the different tire profile and construction made for a fantastic experience.
I did have some shaking under hard acceleration once - like others have experienced, but i think it was me not keeping the front end straight, other times were o.k.
The R1 will now fall in to corners - but it?s not nervous, (at the speeds I was going - notice the life lines (chicken strips 16mm or 5/8")) it just feels awesome. I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to tell the difference as this is my first street bike, I have less than two years of street experience, but I can tell it requires a lot loss counter steer.
Point is - try something new. I almost fell into the rut of going with the same old-same old stby - an excellent tire, but not the only choice. Man - I would like to have lots of different tires to ride on and bikes to go with them.
So what do you guys think, should people stick with the same old or mix it up, is it wrong to want to try different tires? - For me, next I think it'll be the Pirelli then Dunlop - man I like tires.
