Well said!

09 is slow even with same mods as mine same weight riders and same riding experience still walk on it.

As far as both bikes on track i am not sure honestly.

But rolling 60s or dead stop i am sure 08 kills it.
riiiiiight, cuz rolling 60's wins races :shake

0-60 the 09 R1 is pretty quick...definitely not slow...up top it dies like the CBR, but you can get the top end power back with a Z-Bomb for 150 bucks, on the R1 it will cost 5-600 for an unleashed ECU...wish it was cheaper, but if i got an 09-11, this is a must

146-150 RWHP is still enough, you just don't get the top end charge because of the linear powerband....
the ECU mod is $450...still too damn expensive...i wonder what journalist-testers would say if they rode an '09 with the ECU mod

Well i did say i was not sure how well it does on track but on the street how would you test these bikes other then drag or rolling 60s. I mean our purpose of riding is to hit twiesties and we travel a long way to find some however we are not passing each other in corners we just follow each other but i like to pass the 09 on straight line :) even if he gets the jump.

I take it you have no idea how little the extra 5mm's affects speed?

Also the 09+ rear sprocket is a 47T compared to a 45T on the 04-08.

In other words it will take you 9.5 seconds to top out first instead of 9.3 with a 190/55 tyre compared to a 190/50. (figurative numbers BTW)
your argument was that the tire does NOT affect gearing, now your saying it does a little.....

I just can't get past the headlight and exhaust setups. The front of the 09 looks bug eyed and the stock exhaust just seems to be to wide for the tail almost like it was slapped on as an afterthought. As for performance. If I ever need and can safely use all the power either bike produces I should be looking for a sponsor in MotoGP.
Pokemon are still big in Japan.

u don't have twisties in FL :finger

And nobody ever mentions the '09+ ECU restrictions. Remove that bs and the HP number isn't so different from the '08 but the newer bike, due to the engine, has much better traction, especially out of the corners. Too many phucktards go by HP numbers anyways.

If you are going to pull the ECU restrictions on the 09, the you must pull the ECU restrictions on the 07-08 as well to make it a fair comparison.

I will say this again, the reason why the 09+ bikes seem like they have more traction, is that the motor has so much more rotational mass from the counterweights on the crank that the engine cannot rev as fast which is what you are feeling. You think is has more traction, but in reality it's just the motor not being able to rev up as quickly which won't spin the tyre as easy.

It's a retarded man's traction control IMHO.

:hammer: my traction control is my right hand :epimp

Thought ECUnleashed only netted 1 or so HP gain at peak. Does allow a good bit more power under peak, though...

I call bull shit, I've owned 4 R1's now and I would bet that I can come out of a corner way faster on this one than any other ones that I've owned, because you can realy feel what is happening at that back wheel. Allows you to get on the throttle much earlier.

And I would say the motor revs up quicker from 4K up to 9 than the previous years... (+2 in the rear or not)

Sorry unless you've spend sometime on one, (and I don't mean 100 miles) give it a good 3-4K than you won't know. There is a reason on why it works in most of the GP bikes, and yes I know they aren't even close to what we ride on. Lets face it, the general public doesn't like to let go of te past or even change for that matter.

I'm sure we can go back and froth talking about this, but this is just my 2.87 Cents that aren't worth a damn around here anyways :crash

I like where this thread is going, just like any other thread that has the 09/10 compared against it... same shit all the time, this and that.... so on that note,

My dad can kick your dads' ass!
:crash :hammer:
hahahahaha :hammer::hammer::hammer:

it doesn't matter what the physics behind it are, the end result is BETTER TRACTION! :dundun:

i've seen the chicken strips in your pics...TC is the last thing you gotta worry about :lol
