A few of you already know of this but we'd like, and need as many people on board as possible.
Double Dog Moto already produce the world's first carbon fibre kickstand. Sadly though, for mainly Ducati and MV though. Here's some pics to whet your appetite:

Member Death R1 has very kindly contacted Double Dog directly about getting some made for R1's.
He's had a great response back from them where they've agreed to go ahead with production as long as we can meet a few of their understandably necessary requirements:
We need a minimum of ten orders to initiate the obvious expensive process of Double Dog tooling up to make these stands.
Double Dog have said cost would be $195 per stand, decreasing to $190 for an order of 20 or more.
The initial order would need paying for IN FULL before production begins, which is expected to take four weeks +\- a week.
They have asked to be provided with a standard stand from each model required which Death R1 has very gratefully done, for each of the three models needed.
The ranges we've determined as needing a different stand are as follows:
98-01
02-08
09-11
I will be willing to collect funds into my Paypal account ready for forwarding to Double Dog. I regularly help many members here with purchases both very large and small, own a bike shop here in the UK and work for a well known bike magazine here also. If needed I'll pm anyone my full contact details and references from a few members.
So, please can anyone who is able to make a CONFIRMED order with PAYMENT IN FULL in approx two weeks once enough people have had the opportunity to see this, please speak up listing WHICH MODEL YOU WOULD LIKE TO ORDER and I'll add you to the list below:

We've yet to find out how shipping will work - if Double Dog will send them out individually direct to each buyer or if it's up to one of us to be sole distributor. I don't mind doing that but obviously being in the UK and the majority of orders being Stateside then it may be better for one of our US members to do as Double Dog are an American company.
IF ANYONE HAS OR KNOWS ANYONE WITH A 1999-2002 R6 THEN THEY USE EXACTLY THE SAME STAND AS A 98-01 R1 SO ONE OF THESE DOUBLE DOG CARBON STANDS WILL FIT STRAIGHT ON, NO MODS AT ALL. PLEASE POST UP IF YOU WOULD LIKE ONE FOR THAT RANGE R6.
