Just curious if anyone on here is has experience with Rizoma rearsets. Doesn't seem to be popular on here. Its a toss up between these or Sato's.

Or might even cheap out and get the Vortex and save a couple hundred.

My experience with Rizoma are that they are far prettier than they are functionally better. I'd go Sato of those 2

And "cheap out" on Vortex...they are very good and replacement parts haven't been hard to find. You may also want to look into woodcraft and Gilles.

Curious are you a track rider or street rider, as that would make a difference on what you would choose.

Didn't mean the vortex are "cheap" but I just missed out on a new set for 300 bucks in classifieds which is in fact cheap (ie inexpsensive)

Woodcraft looks to basic for my tastes. Gilles maybe also a choice though.

R1 is for street. Too pretty to be on the track. The Ape gets to play on the track ocassionally.

I have a set of Rizoma rear sets on my FZ6, it's a little different I know, but they are still very nice pieces and well made. Had a ton of adjustment as well, but they're used only on the street, so they don't get abused too much...

Still, I like them alot.

I'd be careful with votex on the street unless you really do wear riding boots ALWAYS...the pegs are very abrasive to anything else

I did notice that but I kind of like that. I wear riding boots 95% of the time.

One of my previous bikes had, as near as makes no difference, every little detail that Rizoma made for it. My experience with Rizoma is, it's almost purely for aesthetics. Their parts look great, but will never be mistaken for racing equipment.

So, if you're using the parts on a street bike, go with Rizoma if you think it's prettier. The quality is good and they look great. However, if you're looking for something practical, which you don't seem to be but anyway, go for something else like Vortex, Sato or Gilles.

Thats looks very clean Stonewall! One of the reasons why I like them. And Mil Spec thats hilarious. That will open up another can of worms on a different forum.

I found a great deal on Gilles, though Sato's look cleaner to me.

chris, riding boots or not, they'll eat through your soles, there's been a few people on here that have had to repair the soles of their boots due to their vortex rearsets.
I'll be changing mine at some point anyway as I think I'm going to switch to GP shift and don't want to rebuy the sensors so I'll get the rearsets that can make the pull type work for GP. I haven't seen a lot of wear yet, but i haven't had a huge number of days one them

Don't listen to Z06. he knows nothing of which he speaks. I've had Rizoma for two seasons now and they hold up great. I ride about 99% track and I even crash tested them once. One bracket broke in a 30mph highside and the replacement part cost less tham $20.

I had Rizoma before my highside and wasn't happy with the results. Too each their own :flex:

Love that (BLUE) exhaust!:lhumper:
Did someone say blue exhaust? :jump

Here's a vote for Sato being absolutely fantastic. VERY smooth too - noticeably moreso than the Vortex units they replaced.

I can't speak to Rizoma directly because I have no experience with their rearsets, but the parts from Rizoma I do/have had have been top quality and outstanding in both function and form.

Read this thread earlier today and was just going to say "Ping Burn because he went down pretty hard and they evidently held up just fine." I'll be buying a set based on your results and because they come with a return spring (or use the OEM spring I forget which, either way they are designed with this in mind) and use the OEM brake switch. If Satos came with a return spring and used the OEM switch I'd probably go that route.
