Still waiting for some parts to come it.

I got the radiator cleaned up a bit, spent about an hour strightening fins.....still didn't help much.

My cool CF Samco coupler came it, but not enough to put it all together.

I think I have to have some brackets welded on to mount the fans.....looks like someone cut them off at one point....great.

No new pics, sorry.

OK, so I have this thing almost completely mounted. I had some brackets welded on for the fans, I got the 04-06 coolant hard tube and I modified an elbow to make it work.

I just have to cut a small straight section from the stock tube and fab up a little bracket.

I have a problemt though.

It seems the new radiator is missing a port that shows up on my 07-08 radiator:

Here is the radiator cap area of the 08:
There is a small 90° bent tube coming out of the end tank and then there is the small breather port on the back side

Here is the other radiator, there is no small 90° coming out of the tank, only the breather line:

I wanted to simply fab a bracket and attach the stock reservoir:

Here is the modified elbo (yes, with a CF coupler):

Here is the bracket I need to make:

And the last piece of hose:

Thoughts on the little line? Where does it even go? Looks like they made some changes 06-07.

On the 06 rad there's a small outlet, smaller than the overflow one, that comes out of the left upper corner. It feeds the cold start mechanism on the throttle bodies. If your 07 doesn't have one on the left, maybe that's what it is?...

My race rad didn't have one either. You can just block off the pipe at the throttle bodies, and the bike starts fine without it. If you're not starting it to ride it to work in the middle of winter, it's not necessary. I was getting the fan mounts welded on anyway, so I got a little pipe put on as well.

A man after my own heart.

You don't need it, it isn't necessary, it won't affect anything, don't worry about it...............................but I got one put on anyway :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

That makes sense.

I'll see if there is one on the left side.

I followed the tube and it goes to some sort of plastic housing under the tank. a few other tubes go off of it.

I just didn't want to mess up a cooling circuit.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry but that info about the cold start mechanism is wrong. At least on your 07-08 model Bob...

Your model doesn't use the coolant circuit to activate a cold start mechanism like the earlier bikes, yours is electric.

That plastic housing the original pipe leads to is the thermostat housing and that line is the bypass for when the 'stat is closed, allowing warm water to circulate as the engine warms up.

If your new rad doesn't have one, it's likely it's been made for use on a bike with no thermostat.

Ideally, get a new spigot put on that rad and run the bypass hose is my advice.

Gotcha. That makes sense.

If I just put a tee on one of the other lines comming out of that end tank, would it work the same as adding an additional spigot?

Thanks for the input!
