Hey everyone I'm a bit stuck as to know why water came out my overflow pipe yesterday after a hot days ride. The bike was hot when I pulled up and the fan kicked in, this was fine up until water came from the overflow and formed a small puddle under my bike, this is the second time thus has happened in a short while. Does anybody know why this happens and if I need to do anything to stop it happening again? Thanks in advance for your comments, ride safe.

Well I have mine booked in now to have coolant flushed and replaced also to check for suspected leaking hose which I had kinda suspected myself.

Could be damn near anything. maybe nothing. I'd test the rad cap and be sure to flush the system. If you shut it off hot, the motor temp could rise past the pressure the cap can take.

Funny you say that, I did switch it off hot but fan kicked in, both times it's happened I've switched off hot!

The fan can run all it wants, as long as the motor is shut off, the water won't circulate. The water in the jacket gets super heated and boils off. The pressurized system keeps the water from boiling at it's normal temperature, once you surpass the that boiling point, you get coolant out the puke tube. You can purchase a race cap if it really bothers you, or wait till the fans do their jobs and bring the temp down.

Not sure on the 04's. I'd check the manual if you have one.

i did the flush with distil water and water wetter. no more coolant on ground and runs cooler....

I have this same problem I took off the oil pan and checked the hose which is linked to the water pump and found the o ring in the oil pan was bad I had an o ring not Orem but I tried it and still coolant is coming out any suggestions.?

How difficult is it to change out the water/oil pump other than the fact of unbolting the exhaust
