indicators in the headlight?

saw an 04 R1 listed for sale locally, which apparently has the front indicators located in the headlight. Im wondering if anyone here has done this, and if there is a how to on it?
Can it be done to an 08 model?

if anyone has done it, what did you use to smoothly blank off the holes that were left over in the fairing?

this might be my next mod

You can do it relatively easy with some L.E.D strips. Just splice into the signal light wire, run the wires to the strip. The hardest part will be to get the housing apart and sealed back together so it won't leak.

thats one way, but im picky and dont want to open the housing.

Im wondering now about removing the stock indicators, and using the running light in the corner of each headlight as the indicator only. should be a matter of just routing the indicator wires to the running lights. need to go have a proper look at them first though, I cant remember what lights are and are not usually on all the time on the 08.

Yep if you aren't bothered about the running light it's a piece of cake, just disconnect the running lights from the loom and splice them into the signals, should be the blue that you ignore in the signals wiring (that's the running light wire on the 06 anyway).

As for the Greggs plugs, this is what they look like installed on mine, really tidy the lines. :thumbup
