I saw before and was told that, if you see this whitish / purple like color on the muffler ends/pipes, where the exhausts come out, then it means your bike's engine is running perfect and burns cleanly and proper ( no oil burns, no too rich mixture, etc).

I don't see this purple/white colors on my '12 R1 slip on ends. Does my bike need some tuning?
 
Never heard this before... but then again, I was told a long time ago that big macs were fat free cause they didn't have a fat value listed on the wrapper... I don't know what this has to do with anything but I thought a out it as I read this.
 
white/grey is the ideal, but I have never seen it on motorcycle other than the bikes running race fuel. Black is what I normally see and means you are running too rich at some point. Even if you have perfect A/F ratio for most of the RPM range, you will still get black tips if the bike is running rich some of the time. It is better to be a little rich, than a little lean unless you are really trying to milk every last MPG out of the bike.
